In 1981, I joined the Philippine Carabao Research and Development Center (PCRDC), an FAO-UNDP project that later became institutionalized as the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) through Republic Act 7307, as a Science Research Specialist. Over the years, I served as the head of various divisions within the PCC, including Research, Extension, Buffalo Research Farm, and Research & Development. Eventually, I became the OIC Director of PCC UPLB. I also contributed to the field of animal nutrition as an editorial board member and contributor to five chapters of the "FEED Reference Standards," 3rd and 4th editions, published by the Philippine Society of Animal Nutritionists (PHILSAN). I was a member of the technical working committee and the team responsible for publishing the "Manuals on Buffalo Recipes" and the "Dairy Production Handbook" (PCC) and served as a section editor of the Nutrition Section of the Philippine Journal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (PJVAS).

A life member of PSAS, served in the capacity as Treasurer, Auditor, VP & President elect from 1996-2015, and the Philippine Society of Animal Nutritionists (PHILSAN); also a member of the UPLB Chemistry Alumni Association, Inc., and the Philippine Association of Career Scientists (PACS), Secretary(2016-2019).

 Received the 2006 Outstanding Employee Award from the Philippine Carabao Center, DA; the 2012 KKP-ST Distinguished Achievement Award in Extension from the Kapisanang Kimika ng Pilipinas (Chemical Society of the Philippines) Southern Tagalog Chapter; the 2014 Scientist I title from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST); the 2016 PSAS Distinguished Fellow and the 2021 UPLB Outstanding Golden Jubilarian Award. 

Upon retirement I was designated as Lead representative of PSAS to PAA in 2016  Eventually serving as VP & President from 2017-2020 and currently, Chair of the National Awards Committee, nominated by the PAA past Presidents. Attended numerous seminar-workshops, conventions and conferences as resource speaker, poster presenter, discussant and participant of PAA, PSAS, PHILSAN and PACS.
