PROFILE

Ms. Ann Mylalulex A. Magnaye, previously a university researcher, is currently an assistant professor at the Institute of Crop Science, UP Los Baños, where she teaches basic crop science, grain crop production and crop physiology courses.

Her research experience spans around fifteen years covering areas on agronomy, stress physiology, crop production, and conventional and mutation rice breeding, which she expertly shares to her students. She is an active member of the UPLB Rice Varietal Improvement Team that has developed several NSIC-registered rice varieties for different rice ecosystems, particularly for rainfed drought-prone environments. She also served as president of the Crop Science Society of the Philippines in 2023-24. Ms. Magnaye finished

BS Agriculture major in Agronomy (cum laude) in 2007 at UPLB, and ranked 6th during the Licensure Examination for Agriculture on the same year. She obtained her degree MS Agronomy minor in Plant Pathology in 2013, and is currently a PhD candidate at UPLB.
