PRC-PRB Agriculture and PAA-Davao Eagle Chapter Initiate Mindanao-wide Consultation Meeting for IRR of RA 12215

To advance in a shared vision and clear understanding of RA 12215 or the Philippine Agriculturists Act, the joint Technical Working Group (TWG) of the Professional Regulations Commission-Professional Regulatory Board of Agriculture (PRC-PRB Agriculture) and the Philippine Association of Agriculturists, Inc. (PAA) is conducting a series of island-wide consultation workshops to formulate an inclusive and effective Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR).

The PAA-Davao Eagle Chapter, in collaboration with the PRC-PRB Agriculture, conducted a Mindanao-wide consultation meeting on July 4, 2025, at the Grand Menseng Hotel, Davao City, with Dr. Anastacia Notarte as the lead organizer.

The meeting was attended by the regional government agencies, local government units, academe, and the private sector. The program began with welcoming remarks from the PAA Chairman, Dr. Roberto F. Rañola, Jr., and a discussion of the rationale of the meeting by Dr. Fernando C. Sanchez Jr., the current PAA President.

Following a thorough presentation of the draft IRR for RA 12215 by PAA Immediate Past President Dr. Karen S. Bautista, the attending public was consulted for concerns, clarifications, and recommendations. Dr. Bautista proactively explained and addressed the issues that were raised. Other TWG members in virtual attendance included Dr. Emma Sales, Dr. Anabelle Sarabia, Mr. Ramon Oliveros, and Dr. Rosalina Lapitan.

The TWG has consolidated the inputs from the Mindanao-wide Consultation Workshop and will be subjected for discussion to be incorporated in the draft IRR. The consultation meetings will run for the rest of July 2025.
