Dr. Arnel Del Barrio Receives PRC’s Outstanding Agriculturist Award for 2026

MANILA — September 4, 2026. Dr. Arnel Del Barrio, Registered Agriculturist, was honored as the Outstanding Agriculturist for 2026 under the Technology Cluster of the Prestigious Outstanding Professional of the Year Award (OPYA) during the celebration of the 53rd Founding Anniversary of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) held at The Manila Hotel.

With the theme “Integrity in Practice, Trust in Service,” the celebration recognized the exemplary achievements and contributions of the country’s outstanding professionals who continue to uplift Filipino society through dedication, innovation, professional excellence, and ethical leadership.

Dr. Del Barrio’s recognition reflects his significant contributions to the agriculture profession and his continued commitment to advancing agricultural development, promoting innovation, and serving the Filipino people.

Upon confirmation of the award, the PAA National Officers—Dr. Fernando C. Sanchez, Jr., President; Dr. Analiza Henedina M. Ramirez, Vice President; Dr. Rosalina M. Lapitan, Chair of the Awards Committee; and Mr. Sandy B. Abiad, Public Relations Officer—joined the PRC Board of Agriculture, led by Chairperson Dr. Emma K. Sales, together with Board Members Dr. Annabelle S. Sarabia and Ms. Maria Eden S. Piadozo, in recognizing this significant achievement.
