EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Dr. Sanchez earned his undergraduate degree in agriculture in 1987 and continued his studies to complete a master’s degree in environmental science in 1994, both at the University of the Philippines Los Banos. Afterwards, the UPLB alumnus became the very first Filipino to receive a PhD degree in landscape architecture at the Tokyo University of Agriculture in 1998.
PROFILE
The celebrated professional’s tenure was then progressively continued to greater heights as a senior faculty member of the College of Agriculture and Food Science, as the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development, and eventually as the Chancellor of UPLB in 2014. His notable works include the conceptualization of the UP Mindanao Campus Master Plan, landscape development in different UP systems such as the Philippine General Hospital in UP Manila, and the design of Dr. Jose Rizal Centennial Marker at Hibiya Park, Tokyo.
